Akwesasne: It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Brandon Robert Sylvester in Cornwall on Tuesday May 2, 2023 unexpectedly after a long battle with addiction at the age of 49 years. Wolf Clan- Brandon was born on July 20th, 1973 in Syracus, NY. Beloved son of Geraldine Jacobs (née Jacco) and of the late John Robert Sylvester. Stepson of James (Dewey) Jacobs. Loving father of Bailey, Koda, Kaydon, Tehya and Kastian. Dear brother of Anson, Allan, the late Shannon, Jaime and Robyn Jacco and of his paternal siblings Michelle and Mike Rolph, Stacey Cook, Raven Sylvester. Brandon will be remembered by his uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his maternal Totas; Francis Xavier (Frank) and Cecelia (Sharrow) Jacco, his paternal Totas; Dave and Cecelia (Delormier) Sylvester, his aunt Pauline Cook, his uncles Henry and Albert Jocko and by his paternal uncle and aunt Mary and Tom Sylvester. Brandon loved to write songs. He did some beautiful beadwork. He also spent many hours helping distribute meals to the homeless and worked at various jobs in construction. Sylvester was more than his addiction. He was a loving father, kind and a charming soul that loved to make people laugh. He wasn’t afraid to touch people’s hearts. He is at peace and was called back home.
Resting at Boulerice Funeral Home, 218 Montreal Road, Cornwall, ON (613-938-3888) from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023 and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m on Thursday, May 11th, 2023. A catholic service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Thursday, May 11th, 2023 at 1 p.m. officiated by Father Jerome Pastores. Interment to follow at St. Lawrence Cemetery, Akwesasne.
