Obituary for Charles Gregory Jarvo

Jarvo, Charles Gregory (Greg)
1950-2022

On July 11, 2022 Heritage Golf Course lost a loyal golfer at the age of 72. Hammie/Grumpa/Partner left this world sleeping peacefully in his favourite recliner surrounded by his grandchildren who were raiding his chocolate stash.

Greg was born March 15, 1950 to the late Virgil and Kathleen Jarvo (nee Andrews), third child of seven, but forever dubbed the favourite (Ford enthusiast, Toronto Maple Leafs fan). He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 50 years, the foxee lady Sandra Jarvo (nee Fox). Loving father of three needy children who are now left to maintain their homes without his supervision and precision Lana Jarvo-Carry (Lanny Garrison), Leesa Jarvo-Lauzon (Brent) and Andrew Jarvo (Megan). Cherished grandfather of eight grateful recipients of his gold bills on birthdays and at Christmas Isaac and Ella Carry, Colby, Landan and Mabel Lauzon, Maeve, Isla, and Ruby Jarvo. Dear brother of Jerry Jarvo (Jeanie) of Massena, NY, Doug Jarvo(Ginette) of Cornwall, Chris Jarvo (Teresa) of Martintown, Judy Boisvert (Mario) of Cornwall, Pam MacCulloch (Donnie) of Apple Hill and Dale Jarvo (Sandra) of Martintown.

He was a proud IBEW member who’s projects were always “on time-on budget”. He retired in 2012 to pursue his dream of a career on the seniors golf tour with his caddie Michel. His Friday nights were reserved for drinking beer and playing cards with Server and Handsome at the Lancaster Legion. Greg was a master of all trades who’s greatest accomplishment was transforming the historical Riverview house in Martintown into a loving home for friends and family to grow and gather.

Special thank you to Dr. Maggie Yu, Dr. Ezzat Ghaly and Nurse Bonnie “Ratched” from Bayshore for all their help and support with Greg’s medical care. Deepest gratitude to the Martintown Martini Mamas, the community members and the Jarvo/Fox families that were so supportive throughout his short battle.

As per Greg’s wishes cremation has taken place. A drop by celebration of life is being held on Friday August 5th, 2022 from 3pm-7pm at his beloved home in Martintown. His family invites you to stop over to help polish off his last case of Cheladas and bottle of Dr. McGillicuddy’s Butterscotch. If so desired memorial donations to Cornwall Hospice would be appreciated by the family.

Funeral arrangements are under care and direction of Wilson Funeral Home,
822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, ON (613-938-3888). Online messages of condolence may be made in the obituary section of: www.wilsonfuneralhome.ca
