Obituary for Glen Douglas Grant

At home surrounded by the love of his family both far and near, Glen Douglas Grant entered into rest on May 31st. Loved son of his late parents William and Helen (nee MacDermid). Pre-deceased by his brothers William and Ronald. His death leaves a big hole in the lives of his grieving family: wife Kathryn, his children Ashley (Beth) and Michael, sister Heather (David), brother Brian (Margaret), aunt Alice, brother-in-law Randy, mother-in-law Doreen, first wife Cathrine, mother-in law Joan, nieces and nephews and his beloved pets.
A proud graduate of CCVS and Carleton University, Glen spent his life dedicated to social work. He worked for the City of Cornwall for 32 years all the while serving on numerous boards and committees, never being one to say no when an opportunity to help arose.
Glen enjoyed nothing more than having his family around him and looked forward to any event that brought people together. He had a passion for music and could often be found playing his piano. He loved history and travel, frequently mixing the two to see a battle site along the way. He enjoyed car rides and spending time in his yard working and enjoying the gardens and birds. His spirit lives on in his favourite places: Paris, Quebec City, Northern France, Samana, and Walt Disney World.
Ever thinking of the needs of the community, he has requested that donations be made to the Agape Centre or Cornwall Carefor Hospice as an expression of sympathy if so desired.
As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A service and celebration of his life will occur when restrictions allow.
