Obituary for Jill Hodgins-Tallon
Jill Hodgins-Tallon at the Cornwall Community Hospital on Friday, December 18, 2020 surrounded by family. Predeceased by her beloved husband Dr. Brian Tallon, her parents Reilly and Alice (Smith) Hodgins, her brother Robert (Bob) and his wife Bonnie (Weir) Hodgins, her sister Colleen Hunt and her grandniece Meghan Hodgins. She is survived by her aunt Marion (Marnie) Dion, her nephew Michael Hodgins (Joy Blanchard), her niece Shannon Hodgins (Mike Secours), her grandnieces Ashley Hodgins and Erin Hodgins, and sister in law and life time friend Nancy Weir.
Jill was born in Cornwall, ON on August 25, 1937. After graduating from Western University, Jill returned to Cornwall, where she worked for a short period of time in the family lumber business before moving to Geneva, Switzerland and joining the Conference of International Catholic Organizations. There she was involved for a number of years with the resettling of Czechoslovakian refugees. On returning home Jill started working for the family business once again until the business was sold. Jill’s final career was in Real Estate, where she worked for many years as a Real Estate Broker with Century 21 Realty. In retirement she enjoyed many happy years with her beloved husband Brian in their warm and welcoming home on the St. Lawrence River until his passing in 2012. Jill moved to McConnell Manor in 2015 where she made many friends over the last 5 years. As an expression of sympathy contributions may be made to the Ottawa Humane Society.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
