Obituary for Kerry Anthony Macdonald

Kerry was born on the 20th of May, 1981 to proud parents Isabel and Raymond Macdonald. He was their third born and would soon find out what being the baby meant to an older 2 year old brother and 4 year old sister, who tried using him as a rolling pin, much to their poor parents chagrin.

Kerry soon became Kerry-Bear which was shortened to Care-Bear and became a neighborhood favorite. He was a sweet boy, very lovable, but stubborn to boot. There was nothing that he put his mind to that he couldn’t achieve. That strong will never wavered.

From a young age Kerry dreamt of being in law enforcement. He attended Algonquin College and studied Police Foundations then he went on to study Criminology at Carleton University. It was at this time that he began what would be an impressive career with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) beginning in Ottawa. He then went onto working in Cornwall with both the Cornwall Port of Entry and the Cornwall Intelligence and Enforcement Division. He also spent 3 years in Iqaluit; An experience that he and Sarah thoroughly enjoyed. His memorable career ended at the Cornwall Port of Entry as a well respected Superintendent.

Kerry married his first true love Sarah after meeting in University. Before they even got married they were already discussing having children. They were married on June 14, 2008 and later had 3 beautiful children. Kerry took such good care of Sarah and the children. Family was Kerry’s greatest love and achievement.

There is nothing that Kerry would not do for his family. He was a hands on dad who doted over Abigail, Donovan and Paisley. Whether it be baking cakes or cookies with them, or coaching their sports teams, he was devoted and committed. If he wasn’t coaching Hockey, Lacrosse or Soccer, he would be watching his girl dance or figure skate. He was always in the yard playing with them when the weather was good, or on the ice with them when it was cold. Kerry showed up no matter what.

Kerry was an avid sport fan. He loved playing sports and watching them. Being part of a team was always something he enjoyed.

Over the years Kerry earned many nicknames, care-bear, bear, CBass and KMac. It didn’t matter which nickname you knew him by. The boy, the teen or the man were always the same. Honorable, loyal, ethical, caring and honest. Kerry has been a valued and loyal friend and colleague to many.

He will be dearly missed by his wife and best friend Sarah, daughter Abigail, son Donovan and youngest daughter Paisley.
Also mourning his death are his parents Raymond & Isabel Macdonald,
his sister Kimberley and husband Hugo Boisvert along with their children Adea and Zavier, and his brother Kurt and wife Melanie along with their children Cael, Hayden, Wayde, Sutton and Cullen. Equally devastated are his in-laws , Kim and Karen Hicks , their son Jamie and Pam along with their children Bauer and Phoebe and their daughter Jessica and partner Nathan.
