It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Leara Frances Smith (nee McPhail) on Friday, August 5th, 2022 at the Cornwall Community Hospital at the age of 91 years. Beloved wife of the late William Smith. Loving mother of Laurie Nadeau (Sean) of Martintown, ON and Gregor Smith of Cornwall, ON. Cherished grandmother of Brooke Nadeau (Zachary Van Loon) of Green Valley, ON and Bridget Nadeau of Martintown, ON. Dear sister of Lillian Aubin of Nepean, ON and Doris Chisholm of St. Andrew’s West, ON. She is predeceased by her parents; Allen McPhail and Edith McPhail (nee Cleary), one brother; Kenneth McPhail and by one sister; Alda Fournier. Visitation will take place at the Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, ON (613-938-388) on Thursday, August 11th, 2022 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 12th, 2022. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 12th, 2022 in St. William’s Church in Martintown, ON at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow in North Branch Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Ontario Spca-Stormont Dundas and Glengarry would be appreciated by the family.
