It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of a great lady!
Surrounded by her family, Leona St John, (nee Andre), peacefully passed away at the Hospice Cornwall on January 4th, 2023 at the age of 86. Loving mother of Brian (Karen), Susan (Andy Lariviere), Debbie (Bill de Wit) and Rick (Carole). Treasured Grandma of 13 grandchildren, Christopher, (Amanda), Kevan, (Shelagh), Kent, (Patricia), Brandon Stoker, (Jaime), Andrea, (Robert Dillabough), Shawna, (Jamie Carr), Robbie Lariviere, (Jessica), Joel Lariviere, (Katie Payette), Willy de Wit, (Melissa), Alex de Wit, (Sascha), Elissa, (Larson Payette), Julie (Cory Barker) and Jennifer, (Chris Marin), and cherished great grandmother of 17 beautiful great grandchildren. Leona will be sadly missed by her dear friend and companion Gordon Walker.
Predeceased by her husband Clifford St John, her parents Romeo and Josephine Andre, and siblings Rita, Leo, Ernie. Survived by loving brother Gerald Andre (Shirley) and sister-in-law Isabelle Andre. Leona will be missed by several nieces and nephews and her extended family of many, many cherished friends.
Known for her love of life and easy laughter, Leona leaves a hole in the heart of many.
As per Leona’s wishes, a funeral service will be held on January 11th, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peters Catholic Church, 2900 Second Street East in Cornwall.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to Dr. Raji Menon, Seaway Valley CHC Primary Care Outreach RN Elizabeth McRae, the Bayshore visiting nurses and the team of staff at Carefor Hospice Cornwall for the excellent care and support provided along this brief journey.

Cremation has taken place and funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care and direction of Wilson Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring with interment at the Maxville Cemetery.
