It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Lafave (née Brownell) surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, March 12th, 2023 at the age of 72 years. Loving mother of Daphne Lafave and Pamela Mondoux (Al). Cherished grandmother of Samantha-Lee Lafave (Joshua), Chance Benedict-Lafave (Taylor), the late Austin Mondoux (Victoria), Tyson Lafave (Valerie) and Jaida-May Lafave. Beloved great-grandmother of Sophia, Noah, Abigail, Kaidence-Chance, Elliette-Mai, Pheonix, Rhyder and Zaytoven. Dear sister of Tom Brownell (Faye), Jim Brownell (Paulette), Cathy MacDonell (Clark), Roy Brownell, Larry Brownell (Sue), Terry Brownell (Denise), Billy Brownell (Ruby), Dorothy Gellately (Ross). Mary will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, the Lafave family and by many friends. She is predeceased by her parents Earle Brownell and Catherine Brownell (née McGillis), her brother John Brownell (Vale) and by her sisters Betty Scissons (Don) and Judy Neville (Alan). The family would like to thank Mary’s Health Care Team in Cornwall and Ottawa and deepest gratitude to Marina Tassakos for their kindness and care. Visitation will take place at Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, ON (613-938-3888) on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 from 7 pm to 9 pm and on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 from 9 am to 10:30 am. Mass of Christian burial will be held St. Francis de sales Church on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 at 11 am. Followed by cremation. As expressions of sympathy in Mary’s memory, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.
