1958 - 2022
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Maurice Brière, on Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at the age of 63 years. Loving husband and constant companion of Diane Brière (nee Flipsen) for almost 40 years. He was a loving, supportive, and proud father of Matthew Brière, Amanda Birmingham (Ryan), of Calgary and Alyssa Brière (Ryan Snowdon) of Hamilton. Doting and adoring grandfather of Charlie Birmingham, Cooper and Ariel Snowdon. When Maurice wasn’t visiting his children and their families or relaxing at home with Diane, he loved to hike, ride his bike, travel, woodwork, watch sports and give back to his community. Maurice is predeceased by his parents Marcel and Pauline Brière (nee Burgess), his brother Richard Brière (Pat) and also by his father-in-law Arnold Flipsen and sister-in-law Suzie Côté(Michel). Maurice will be missed by his sisters Suzanne Maynard (Paul Hauraney) and Bonnie Brière, his mother-in-law Cornelia Flipsen, brothers and sisters-in-law Henry Flipsen(Nicole), Emmy Sommers(Martin), Frank Flipsen(Kelly), Michel Flipsen(Myra), Daniel Flipsen(Ursula), Carole Massia(Marvin), Sylvain Flipsen(Ramona), Stéfan Flipsen(Lynn), Jo-Ann Sauve(Jamie) as well as many nephews, nieces and friends. As per family’s wishes cremation has taken place. A private service will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Wilson Funeral Home, 822 Pitt Street, Cornwall, ON (613-938-3888).
