It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Michael O’Neil on Wednesday February 8, 2023, in Cornwall at the age of 69 years. Beloved husband, soulmate, and best friend of Linda Bélanger for over 37 years. Loving and devoted father of Daniel O’Neil of Ottawa and Chantal O’Neil of Toronto. Michael will be sadly missed by sisters Maureen O’Neil and Judy Racine (Guy), his father-in-law Roger Bélanger (late Liette), sister-in-law Brenda Lauzon (Craig), brothers-in-law Brian Bélanger (Marla) and Dan Bélanger (Lynn), as well as many nephews, nieces, friends, and colleagues.
Michael is predeceased by his parents William and Drucilla (née Léger) O’Neil.
As per Michael’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Wilson Funeral Home, Boulerice Center, 218 Montreal Road, Cornwall, ON (613 938-3888) on Thursday February 16th, 2023 from 2 – 4 p.m. and from 7 – 9 p.m. and on Friday February 17th, 2023 from 9 – 10:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at Nativity Co-Cathedral on Friday February 17th, 2023 at 11 a.m. As expressions of sympathy in Michael’s memory, donations can be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
