It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Wilfrid Gilbert Paquette at the Cornwall Community Hospital on Tuesday, March 29th, 2022 at the age of 95 years. Beloved husband for 71 years of Lucille Paquette (née Sauvé). Loving father of Gilbert Paquette (Hélène) of Cornwall, Michel Paquette (Denise) of Cornwall, Serge Paquette (Hélène) of Alexandria, Conrad Paquette (Lucie) of Cornwall and Lise Paquette Ranger of Ottawa.

Cherished grandfather of 13 grandchildren; Lianne Girard (Jeff), Pascal Paquette, Cynthia Sauvé (David), Stephane Paquette (Kerry Hug Paquette), Rachel Morgan (Dan Sauvé), Daniel Paquette (Sarah), Sonya McMillian (Todd), Amanda MacCuaig (Jonathan), Jean Paquette, Nicholas Ranger, Chantal Paquette, Krystine Ranger (Justin Marchand) and Martine Paquette and 15 great-grandchildren with #16 coming in August 2022.

Dear brother of Noëlla Chenier (late Aurèle), Dorina Massie (late Lionel), Alice Dubeau (Donald Besner), Leo Paquette (Noëlla), Pauline Leroux (Claude), Rolland Paquette (Johanna) and Marcel Paquette (Gabrielle) all of Alexandria.

Dear brother-in-law of Antoinette Larocque (late Archille) of Green Valley, Berthe Levac (late Rolland) of St-Zotique, Marcelle Chausse (Albert) of Cornwall and Anita Sauvé (late Wilfrid) of Ste-Justine.

He is predeceased by his parents; Joseph Paquette and Emilie Paquette (née St. Pierre), his brothers; Emile Paquette (late Gaëtanne) and Gerard Paquette (Claire) and by his sisters; Marina Gareau (late Germain) and infant Anna Paquette.

Wilfrid and Lucille are originally from Greenfield. For 51 years they raised their family and worked on their farm. Wilfrid was a third degree KOC Council #8715 Lancaster. His family, playing cards and cruising in his convertible were his great passion in life.

As per Wilfrid’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass will take place on Friday, April 8th, 2022 at St. Peter’s Church, Cornwall at 10 a.m. If so, desired in lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
