Hi Gail & Brian. By chance I just came across this notice of Alan's passing. I'm very sorry for your loss. Alan was a great guy, and and a big influence on my interest in cycling. I still have bits of a patch kit he gave me 50 years ago. I have clear memories of time spent with him, including an evening down in the basement pub, sipping beer, and rapping endlessly with tiny ball peen hammers to render the finish he was after on a copper-topped table he had built. I was always impressed by his ease with making things, including the kayaks he made. I'm glad now that I had a chance to spend a few hours with Alan & Brian several years ago when I was back east. Sorry I missed you on that occasion. and hope you and Brian are both doing well.

Dear Gail and family
Gail I was so sorry to read about your father's passing...I have so many fond memories of growing up in our neighborhood as far back as when your grandparents lived with you.
So to one of my longest and dearest friends my thoughts are with you and your family
